Fundraising Ceilidh & raffle for SDAS

Saturday 9th November 2019 at The Lion Hotel, Shrewsbury, SY1 1UY

Join us for an evening of dancing and meeting friends and supporters of domestic abuse services from across Shropshire featuring the Shropshire-based Ceilidh band (complete with caller), The Melomanics.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start to Ceilidh set 1, finishing at 9pm.  You can buy your tickets here.

Raffle intermission 9-9.30pm with a range of prizes donated by businesses from across Shropshire.  

Ceilidh dancing set 2 from 9.30, finishing 10.30/11pm.  

We have the upstairs ballroom and bar area from 7pm - midnight.

In case you have never experienced a ceilidh before - no previous experience, or even a dance partner, is required.  Whether you want to sit back and watch or join in, all the dances are explained by the "caller" and will start off slowly so that you can learn the steps before the music picks up.  We've uploaded an example of a ceilidh dance.

Although the main toilets for this event are downstairs, The Lion Hotel have kindly agreed to also open one of their bedrooms near to the ballroom to provide an option of more accessible toilets.  A wheelchair-accessible lift is also available on site.

This event is open to all friends and supporters of the Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service and/or the domestic abuse survivor network in Shropshire.

All profits from the tickets, and all other monies collected in relation to this event (e.g. from sales of raffle tickets), will be donated to Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service to assist in the running of its survivor support services across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
